The first foreign customer of Aeromar was British Airways. In October 1990, the airline began ordering a full range of onboard meal services, since already at that time the quality of the food provided by CJSC Aeromar to business class and economy class passengers met all international requirements and standards. The trust of the companys first foreign client helped Aeromar move its business along. Before October 1990, other foreign airlines had been suspicious of Sheremetyevo Airport kitchens, and had preferred to use the food cooked abroad.

In the early 1990s, the former Soviet Union opened its borders for trade and economic activities, and Aeromar was one of the first companies to set up a bonded warehouse and to receive permission to import quality products from abroad. As a result, the quality of the food improved. Pre-packaged foods that were purchased abroad were not only beautifully packaged, but also of high quality.
